Learning how to use software and implement technology in the classroom can be a challenging task. In order to effectively apply the content learned during training, facilitators have to ensure that participants follow certain principles, so knowledge retention and transfer takes place. This session will compile a list of best practices, based on research and anecdotal data, that are key to succeed when facilitating technology training in higher education. Using demonstration-based training as a framework, this presentation will teach participants how to effectively design, facilitate, and evaluate technology training for faculty and staff to implement in their classrooms. In addition, presenters will provide a wide variety of resources that participants can use as checklists and rubrics to ensure that their classroom technology training has all the necessary elements for success.
