Virginia Western Community College (VWCC), along with a number of other colleges in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) had been using Active Data Exchange (ADE), an event manager/calendaring system to request, manage and provision event spaces on campus. Unfortunately the original vendor of the software product stopped developing it and sold it to another vendor (Dude Solutions) who froze the product while they started working on a totally different software solution to replace it. In this presentation we will describe the long and tortuous process of moving from the original, highly customized, ADE product, which by definition had become end-of-life, to the new Event Manager platform from Dude Solutions - while the product was still under active development!!
