Jose L. Alvarez has over 20 years of experience in life sciences, healthcare, R&D, high-performance computing (HPC) and IT.

Since he joined Cambridge Computer in 2015, Jose is responsible for developing and successfully integrating Cambridge’s business strategy within healthcare, life sciences and research computing organizations. He also develops innovative solutions that address data-intensive research computing challenges that the healthcare and life sciences communities face.

Before Cambridge Computer, Jose worked as a Principal Engineer and Worldwide Lead for Healthcare and Life Sciences at Seagate’s Cloud and Systems Solutions. Prior to Seagate, he led DataDirect Networks Healthcare and Life Science HPC practice as Worldwide Director. Earlier, at Dell Jose led the Healthcare and Life Sciences research computing practice as a Business Development Manager. Before Dell, he held senior-level leadership positions in engineering and network architecture at Catholic Health Initiatives. Jose has also been a guest scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratories, where he collaborated with Exxon/Mobil to conduct research in molecular imaging and modeling.

Jose holds degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science.
